STE(A)M Events at Newton Free Library

The Newton Free Library is offering a several STEAM (“A” is for Art) programs:

Knitting & Math, Thursday, May 22, 7PM:  A presentation and Q&A session with the Black Sheep Knitting Company will cover all you need to know about knitting and math, from the basics to more complex computations.

Design to Print in 3D Learn how to design three-dimensional objects using free computer-aided design software and then print them on the library’s new 3D printer.  Registration required.

  • For Grades 6-12:  Tuesday, May 27, 4PM  Registration open now.
  • For Adults:   Wednesday, June 4, 6:30PM  Registration begins May 14.

Tear Aparts (for Grades 6-12), Monday, June 9, 4PM:  Learn how things work by tearing apart DVD and VCR players, Tickle Me Elmos and other machines.   Registration required and begins May 19.

Make Your Own Video Game (for 10 and up), Tuesday, June 10, 2PM:   Learn Scratch interactive software and create your own video game.  Registrstion  is required and begins May 20.
