MIT BluePrint Hackathon for High-School Students, Feb. 22

HackMIT, an MIT student organization, is offering Blueprint — a mentor-guided, 14-hour programming workshop for high-school students — on February 22 at Google’s offices at 5 Cambridge Center (near Kendall Square station in Cambridge).  Students of all skill levels — including those who have never programmed before — are invited for this event focused on creativity, collaboration, and learning by doing.  Register online by February 14.

Students will form teams, formulate ideas, attend workshops, and find mentors during the event. Students will work with their teammates and mentors to build their own applications, websites, algorithms, etc.  No coding experience is necessary, and mentors will teach and help students with their projects.  At the end, students will present their projects, and judges will award prizes.  Blueprint is completely free.  Food and drinks will be provided — along with laptops if necessary (but bring your own laptop and charger if you can).  Check-in is 8-9AM, and the event runs until about 11PM. For more information see  blueprint.hackmit.org or email blueprint@hackmit.org.
