Empow Studios is offering a one-day Holiday Camp on September 16, 8:30AM-4PM, in Newton and Lexington for Grades 2-8. In Empow’s Tech & Design Exploratory program, students may explore Video Game Design, Digital Animation, Stop-Motion Animation, 3D Art & Printing, 3D Architecture, Digital Audio Production, and/or Coding/Programming Fundamentals.
Forsyth Institute Remote Science Camps, Grades 6-12, Feb. & Apr. Breaks
Registration is open for The Forsyth Institute Student Scholars Remote Science Camps for middle- and high-school students over winter and spring breaks. Middle-school students will focus on one specialty area each day with the 5th day demonstrating how all disciplines can work together on a common issue. High-school students will focus on one topic for the entire week. Each session will consist of group discussions, lectures, lab tours, career talks, and hands-on laboratory experiments. iCode Wellesley: In-Person Holiday Camps During December Break
iCode (73 Central Street in Wellesley) is offering on-site holiday camps for ages 6-18 during the upcoming December school break, December 21-31. The holiday camps have popular and fun STEAM activities like Minecraft Modding, Roblox, Stop-Motion Animation, Robotics & Engineering, Drones, VR/AR, 3D Digital Arts, 3D Architecture, Coding/Programming, Python, Java and more. In addition, each camp provides fun activities that offer time away from screens. iCode ensures a safe environment for students through rigorous safety protocols and procedures for its on-site camps. Space is particularly limited due to Covid restrictions, so register soon.
Kids4Coding Virtual Winter-Break Camps for Ages 7-13
Kids 4 Coding is offering virtual camps for ages 7-13 over the winter school break, December 28-31, featureing live instructors (1 per 5 students). Save $50 by registering before December 21.
Model UN Virtual Program on Climate Change, Feb 17-19 & Mar. 15-17
The United Nations Association of Greater Boston will offer two 3-day, virtual Model UN programs, the Virtual Spring Institute in Global Leadership, for students in Grades 7-10 to explore climate change from a global perspective. In the role of diplomats, students will engage in public speaking, negotiation, and team-building activities and use parliamentary procedure to structure the debate and represent the perspective of their assigned country in a full-day Model UN simulation on Climate Change. BioBuilder Advanced Bio-Engineering Bootcamp, Apr. 21-24
BioBuilder Learning Lab is hosting its Advanced Bio-Engineering Bootcamp over spring vacation, April 21-24, 9AM-4PM for Grades 9-12 at Lab Central (700 Main Street, Cambridge). Students should already have a working knowledge of DNA as the coding language of cells and some understanding of cells and cell function.
