Edge on Science: Super Science Sampler, June 24-28
Edge on Science will offer Super Science Sampler — an “all-you-can-eat buffet of applied science and engineering” for ages 8-10 — at Regis College in Waltham, June 24-28. Scholarships Available for Whitehead Institute’s Expedition:Bio Summer Program
Expedition: Bio is a summer science program offered at the Whitehead Institute (455 Main Street, Cambridge) for students entering Grades 7-8. In each of two two-week sessions (9AM-3PM daily), 24 students will explore methods used in ecology, genetics, chemistry, and bioengineering through hands-on activities, laboratory modules, and discussions with scientists. Sessions will be July 8-19 (already full for paid participants) and August 5-16. Tuition of $1000 includes snack, lunch, field-trip fees, and lab materials. A limited number of full-tuition scholarships are available for both sessions for students with financial need (family income less than $70,000). Register here. Innovation Institute: A STEM Gem in Newtonville
The Innovation Institute (TI2) offers summer and school-year STEM programs that are engaging, challenging, and — yes — joyful for Grades K-12. Classes are small and led by scientists and engineers who are committed to TTI2‘s inquiry-based, hands-on, student-focused approach to teaching and learning. Its curriculum is focused on developing critical and creative thinking, drawing on research in STEM education and cognitive development while remaining complementary with curricula of schools in the greater Boston area. Limited needs-based financial assistance is available. TTI2 is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and welcomes contributions to further its ability to offer this assistance and extend its reach in underserved communities.

Business of Doing Good: Summer Workshops in Social Entrepreneurship for Middle School
The Business of Doing Good is a social entrepreneur program for ages 10 – 14 offering week-long day programs at innovative working spaces in the Boston area:

- August 12-16 (girls only) at Cambridge Innovation Center
- August 19-23 at Regis College, Weston
- August 19-23 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Boston’s South End
Students meet entrepreneurs and executives who are combining innovative business ideas with social justice issues. They learn basic business skills and at the end of the week pitch a product or project that is meaningful to them, building courage and confidence and the desire to make the world a better place. Einstein’s Workshop: Free STEM K-6 Open House, May 25
Einstein’s Workshop will host free Open House of STEM activities for students going into Grades K-6 (and their parents) on May 25, 9:30AM-3PM, at Lasell College (1844 Commonwealth Avenue).
