Girls’ STEM Summit Online for Grades 8-12, Apr. 3 & 10

Jr. Tech will sponsor its Girls STEM Summit online, in two half-day sessions (8:30AM-noon) on April 3 and 10. It’s open for all persons in Grades 8-12 who identify as female, non-binary, or other gender identity or expression to explore STEM fields and career choices. Participants will meet female STEM experts, attend career-track sessions and an inspirational keynote, learn about STEM fields, and how to apply to colleges with STEM degree programs. The cost is $65 per student. Registration is available for individuals or groups.

Museum of Science Celebrates Women and Girls in STEM Month

Boston’s Museum of Science has a Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) committee of women trustees, advisors, and donors who create programming for women and girls to share about their research and life experiences in STEM. WISE is offering several programs in November for Women and Girls in STEM Month. For further details on these events, check the MOS Facebook page.

Free Screenings of Film ‘Entangled’ About Saving North Atlantic Right Whales

On November 17, 6PM-8PM, the Harvard Museums of Science and Culture will offer a free online screening of the documentary Entangled, about efforts to save the North Atlantic right whales, followed by a Q&A webinar with the director of this award-winning film. It’s recommended for ages 18+. Register here for the Zoom link.

If you miss this event, the New England Aquarium and the Lowell Institute will offer free online screening of Entangled, followed by a similar panel discussion, on December 1.  Registration details will be announced soon.
