The Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts will hold its 9th annual STEM Conference and Expo for Grades 6-12, this time online, on March 20-21. Girls’ STEM Summit Online for Grades 8-12, Apr. 3 & 10
Jr. Tech will sponsor its Girls STEM Summit online, in two half-day sessions (8:30AM-noon) on April 3 and 10. It’s open for all persons in Grades 8-12 who identify as female, non-binary, or other gender identity or expression to explore STEM fields and career choices. Participants will meet female STEM experts, attend career-track sessions and an inspirational keynote, learn about STEM fields, and how to apply to colleges with STEM degree programs. The cost is $65 per student. Registration is available for individuals or groups.
FSU Planetarium Online — The Seven Sisters, for Ages 7+, Nov. 20
The Christa McAuliffe Center at Framingham State University offers free, virtual planetarium events for families (ages 7+), and its next online presentation, The Seven Sisters, will be on November 20 at 7PM. You can register for it on Zoom or watch it on YouTube (live or recorded).
New England SciTech: Online Morse Code Course Starts Nov. 23
The New England Sci-Tech STEM education center hosts the Sci-Tech Amateur Radio Society, which offers a wide range of events and courses. Their Introduction to Morse Code course will take place online on seven Mondays, 7:30PM-8:30PM, November 23 to December 28. The cost is $30 ($15 for members of STARS or NEST).
FSU Virtual Planetarium: Solar System Explorers, Ages 5-8, Nov. 24
The Christa McAuliffe Center at Framingham State University will hold a live, virtual, interactive session of Solar System Explorers for ages 5-8 on November 24, 4PM-5PM. Register here for $10 per child. This show is usually offered for school classes, and this particular session is for individual sign-ups.
Museum of Science Celebrates Women and Girls in STEM Month
Boston’s Museum of Science has a Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) committee of women trustees, advisors, and donors who create programming for women and girls to share about their research and life experiences in STEM. Free Screenings of Film ‘Entangled’ About Saving North Atlantic Right Whales
On November 17, 6PM-8PM, the Harvard Museums of Science and Culture will offer a free online screening of the documentary Entangled, about efforts to save the North Atlantic right whales, followed by a Q&A webinar with the director of this award-winning film.
