Gains in the Education of Mathematics and Science (G.E.M.S.) is a one-week, paid, extracurricular, science education internship program, new this summer. Aiming to allow students to experience science in a real laboratory setting, it seeks highly motivated:
- Middle School students (grades 6-8) to serve as aspiring research participants
- College & High School students to serve as Near-Peer Mentors (stipend)
- Middle or high school Science Teachers to serve as an Instructor (stipend)
Participants will:
- Conduct simple biology and chemistry experiments,
- Receive interactive lectures on engineering, mathematics and new technology
- Tour Natick Soldier System Center facilities to learn about exciting research efforts underway
Sessions will be offered July through August, in weekly sessions running Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, at the Natick Soldier System Center, Natick, MA
