Future City Competition is a national, project-based learning experience for middle-school students to design cities of the future. Students work as a team with an educator and a mentor to use SimCity software to to design future cities, research and write solutions to an engineering problem relevant to this year’s theme (Feeding Future Cities), build scale models with recycled materials, write a city narrative, and present their ideas to judges. Registration is open now for schools/educators, mentors, and judges. There is a registration fee of $25 per organization (for any number of teams). Key dates:
- October 8: National webinar on the Feeding Future Cities essay, 4PM Eastern
- October 15: Registration deadline for schools/educators
- October 25: Join the ThinkSession (2PM) held just after ThinkFest (10AM-1:30PM)
- January 31: Regional competition (National finals in February)
