eCYBERMISSION: Online STEM Competition for Grades 6 – 9, with Mini-Grants Available

The U.S. Army Educational Outreach Program runs eCYBERMISSION, a web-based STEM competition for Grades 6, 7, 8, and 9.  Online registration is open until December 17 and work must be completed by February 25.  The judging periods will be in March, April, and June for the virtual, regional, and national levels.  According to the rules, each team consists of 3 or 4 students in the same grade and state (but not necessarily the same school) plus one adult Advisor.  Each team selects a mission challenge, identifies a related problem in the community, and uses STEM principles and processes to devise a solution.  eCYBERMISSION seeks adult Team Advisors, CyberGuides, Ambassadors, and Virtual Judges.

The National Science Teachers Association administers the mini-grants (PDF) offered by the eCYBERMISSION program.  To apply, schools and districts must contact Chris Campbell (ccampbell@eCYBERMISSION.com) by October 22 and submit an application by October 29.
