The LigerBots, Newton’s high school robotics team, will host the FIRST LEGO League Massachusetts-East Championship and a STEAM expo with activities for youth at Newton North High School on December 14 from 10AM-3PM. The competition will feature 48 FIRST LEGO League (FLL) robotics teams, with competitors in grades 4-8. In addition to building and programming robots to perform complex tasks in a competitive game, students have completed engineering projects, which will be displayed at the Expo, addressing real-world problems facing the arts.

This free Expo will feature hands-on activities from various organizations, a fire truck for children to play with and learn about, and interactive STEAM activities led by the LigerBots. Additionally, visitors will have the opportunity to observe and interact with robots created by the LigerBots and other robotics teams. Admission is free for both the tournament and the Expo.
