Massachusetts STEM Week will be held October 21-25 (and the weekends before and after), with a full schedule of events — including Newton’s Think Big! STEAM Mentor Ice Cream Social. The STEM Week theme for this year is “See Yourself in STEM,” emphasizing a focus on increasing access for traditionally underrepresented groups — women, people of color, low income individuals, culturally diverse learners and people with non-traditional abilities. Among other events, Lt. Governor Karen Polito, Secretary of Labor & Workforce Development Rosalind Acosta, and Secretary of Education James Peyser will speak on The Importance of STEM Education at the Boston Foundation, October 24, 8:30AM-10:30AM.
