The Friends of Cold Spring Park and the Zervas PTO will host naturalist Sam Jaffe, founder of The Caterpillar Lab, speaking on The Natural Wonders of Cold Spring Park on June 3, 7:30PM at Zervas Elementary School. Sam has identified 150 species of birds, 32 butterflies, and many species of reptiles, amphibians, insects, and mammals in Cold Spring Park. He’ll speak about the park’s diverse habitats and inhabitants, how he works with Zervas teachers to use the park as an outdoor classroom, threats to the park’s ecosystem, and plans to rehabilitate the trails in the park.
