The TiE Young Entrepreneurs is an extra curricular program for students in Grades 9-12 to foster skills in building a startup. Along the way, it helps them identify and develop pathways to reach personal and professional goals. Participants meet in Kendall Square, Cambridge on alternate Saturdays, October through April, to learn from startup founders and tech industry experts, using a time-tested, rigorous curriculum. Student teams compete for up to $5000 in seed funding for ventures they create. About 90% of TYE’s 400+ participants say that the program influenced their decision to pursue studies and a career in STEM. The cost is $1650, and need-based scholarships are available. Applications for the 2019-2020 school year are now open, and decisions are made on a rolling basis and will be announced June 30 and August 30.
