Registration is now open for the Newton Girls Who Code club for the 2016-2017 club year. Girls Who Code is a national, non-profit organization that inspires, educates, and equips girls with the computing skills to pursue 21st century opportunities. The Newton club holds two separate weekly sessions at the Newton Free Library, late-September to mid-May: Tuesdays 6:30-8:30PM and Fridays 4:00-6:00PM. Both sessions are open to all students, Grades 6-12, by registration only. Because of overwhelming interest last year, enrollment this year will be by lottery, with each session enrolling 15 first-time girls and 10 returning girls. Register online for the lottery by Thursday, September 22.
The club will hold an optional information session for girls and their parents at the Newton Free Library on Monday, September 19 from 7PM to 9PM. The www.newtongwc.org website has an enrollment guide and a calendar of meeting dates. For more information, email info@newtongwc.org.
