NuVu Studio: Saturday Sessions in Cambridge for Ages 4-6

NuVu Studio in Cambridge will offer a series of design sessions for kids 4-6 years old on eight Saturdays this fall, 1-3PM, starting September 17.  Based on a theme of storytelling, sessions focus on coding, motion, mapping, experiments with flight, light, and color.  Enrollment is limited to 20.  Register ASAP but no later than September 9. Email kids@nuvustudio.org to say how many kids and how many sessions (minimum of 6 per kid) you’re signing up for, and NuVu will reply with enrollment and payment details

Science Club for Girls: Applications Now Open for 2016-17

Registration is now open for the following Science Club for Girls programs, which are located at Pine Manor College in Newton (among other locations in greater Boston):

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the September 15 deadline.  All are welcome to apply, and priority will be given to girls of color or demonstrating economic need, per the mission of Science Club for Girls.  For more information, email newton@scienceclubforgirls.org.

Youth CITIES: Monthly Mini-Hacks at Cambridge Innovation Center

Youth CITIES hosts Mini-Hack collaborative problem-solving sessions on the second Thursday of each month, 4:30-6PM, at the Cambridge Innovation Center (1 Broadway in Cambridge).  They are open to middle-school, high-school, and college students as well as entrepreneurs, educators, public officials, and other working professionals.  Each month, the group focuses on one topic.  Registration is requested but not required.

HUBweek’s Girl Hackathon at MassChallenge, Oct. 1

Girls in upper elementary and middle-school grades are invited to form two-person teams for HUBweek’s Girl Hackathon, a two-hour learn-to-code event at MassChallenge (23 Dry Dock Avenue in Boston) on October 1, 10AM-noon.  It’s free and sponsored by The Girl Hackathon, Boston Public Schools, Becker College, Hopscotch, MassChallenge, and Nantucket Conference and New Dimensions in Technology (NDT).  There will be 20 teams, each consisting of two girls and a mentor, selected from those who register.  A parent/guardian of a team member should register the two girls for a team, and mentors will be provided by the event organizers.
