In celebration of National Robotics Week, the Vecna Cares Charitable Trust will host a fundraiser — the first-ever human and robot race — in Cambridge on Sunday, April 12. At 9AM, humans will run a chip-timed 5k beginning at the Vecna Technologies office (36 Cambridge Park Drive, near Alewife T Station) and winding around the city. Separately, at 10AM robots will traverse a 100-yard dash and show off their skill at picking up a Dixie cup filled with confetti at the “water station.” Humans may register online for themselves and/or their robots. Fees ranging from $15 to $30 cover prizes, food, raffles, and contributions to the Vecna Cares Charitable Trust (video).
