The Girl Scouts of Newton are presenting a fun, hands-on STE(A)M workshop — combining art projects and the science behind them — for girls in Grades K-6. (Older Girl Scouts are welcome as station leaders and assistants.) Sample activities:
- Spin art and centripetal force
- Marbled paper and viscosity
- Snack demonstrating our water aquifers (bring your own snack if you have allergies)
It will be held Sunday, November 16, 3-5PM at Lasell College, DeWitt Hall (in the Winslow Academic Center), 80 Maple Street in Auburndale. The $10 cost includes a fun patch. The event is open to troops, groups, and individuals. One adult chaperone is needed for every 5 girls. Sign up by November 13 — with adult contact’s name, approximate number of girls, and troop number — by email to newtongs@gmail.com or voice mail to 617-671-1223. Any questions, please contact Cammie at chaase@mit.edu or 617-733-3623.
