The MIT Museum will celebrate Engineers Week by holding vacation-week workshops for students in grades 6-12 during the winter school break, February 17-21. Sessions will be held at 10AM and 1PM each day. Registration is now open for the following:
Monday, February 17 – Visualizing Science (grades 6-12): Observation skills, microscopy, biological engineering, nanoscience, and nanotechology.
Tuesday, February 18 – Fish ‘n’ Ships (grades 6-12): Nautical engineering workshop, nature-inspired engineering, hands-on experiments, a boat design challenge, robotics exhibition.
Wednesday, February 19 – Introduction to Robotics (grades 6-12): LEGO Mindstorms robot programming, tour of Robots & Beyond exhibition.
Thursday, February 20 – Hello Holography! (grades 9-12): 3D imagery, properties of light, holography.
Friday, February 21 – Structural Engineering (grades 6-8): Bridge-building using recycled materials. Introduction to architecture and civil engineering.
