The MIT Museum offers hands-on workshops for groups of students in Grades 6 and up, on these topics:
- Robotics Engineering: Programming Mindstorms (middle and high school)
- Visualizing Science: Abalone, Brass Rats, and Computer Chips (middle and high school)
- Physics and Photography: Lights, Camera, Action (recommended for high school)
- Hello Holography: Light and Perception (middle and high school)
- Fish N Ships: Mechanisms for Ship Propulsion (middle and high school)
- Structural Engineering: Building Better Bridges (recommended for middle school)
- DNA Learning Lab: DNA and Proteins (middle and high school)
- DNA Learning Lab: Protein Synthesis (high school only)
Each workshop is 1.5 to 2 hours and includes admission to the museum galleries. The cost is $200 for up to 25 students and 3 chaperones. Reservations should be made at least two weeks in advance, and the earlier the better.
