Maker Faire is a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness — and a celebration of the Maker movement. In this “Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth,” people show what they are making and share what they are learning. The Rhode Island Mini-Maker Faire will be held this Saturday, August 10 from 1PM to 11PM at the Pell Chafee Performance Center, 87 Empire Street in Providence, RI. It’s part of ASA220’s FOO FEST, and the cost is included in FOO FEST admission ($7, kids under 11 are free).
This is an opportunity to see a lot of creative projects made by Makers in the area. A partial list of projects includes high-tech jewelry, a 3D printing village demoing an assortment of 3D printers, a Fish bike, a self-balancing people mover, and lots more! There are usually hands-on activities as well, suitable for all ages. You can register here (not required, but helps them make sure they have enough materials on hand for hands on activities).
