3D Printing Events at Newton Free Library

The Newton Free Library has acquired a 3D printer — a MakerBot Replicator 2X — and will hold 3D printing events throughout March, as part of its STEAM program (that’s STEM with an A for Art).   NewtonSTEM contributor Kevin Osborn has been named the Library’s Maker-in-Residence and will host the following events:

Tuesday, March 18, 2-4PM:  3-D Design Workshop for Kids  Interactive workshop for students in grades K-5 (adult companion required for those under age 8).  Space is limited.  Register online (starting March 4) or by phone (617-796-1370) or email (jmalmberg@minlib.net).

Thursday, March 20, 4-6PM:  Making Things in 3D: Design to Print (for teens)  Use computer-aided design software to design 3-D objects and then print them using the Library’s new 3D printer.  Open to grades 6-12.  Space is limited.
