URBANFRAME Summer Design/Build Program for Teens at MIT

URBANFRAME offers summer design/build projects to give teens opportunities to design and build architecture in response to needs within their communities. This summer, 30 teens led by graduate students in architecture, landscape and urban design, will design and build architectural structures to turn the “in-between” spaces in our cities into cool new uses. The community partner for this project will be the City of Boston’s Department of Main Streets & Neighborhood Development. A typical day might include team brainstorming in the studio, working with 3D software, making models, constructing our design on-site, and meeting with our client. On Wednesdays there are field trips to tour great architecture and meet interesting designers in their firms. There’s still room in the July 23-August 10 session.
